Craig Dundas receives PFA Community Champion Award

22 April 2024

Before Saturday's game against Crawley Town, Craig Dundas was presented with a 2023-24 PFA Community Champion award by club chairman Bruce Elliott

The awards are given by the Professional Footballers' Association to recognise the work that players perform in their local community, and Craig, a club stalwart for the last 16 years and one of only five players to have made over 500 appearances and scored over 100 goals for the club, was nominated by Sutton United. Head of the Sutton United Foundation Bobby Childs said: ''Craig understands the importance of our work and is keen to represent the club and positively engage with our Community. He is also keen to represent himself as a positive role model, particularly for those young people who need an outlet for their energies and he knows how discipline, dedication and hard work can serve you well in your formative years and leave you still actively involved in sport even as you get older.

Maheta Molango, the CEO of the Professional Footballers' Association, said: ''The PFA has once again been immensely proud of the outstanding efforts of players this season and we feel they should be recognised for their support and involvement in the local community. The Award will hopefully raise awareness of the importance many of our members attach to their roles off the pitch and highlight their continued commitment to support those most in need along with engaging in areas where they have a personal interest. We would like to offer our congratulations to this season’s recipients of the 2023/24 PFA Community Champion Award.”
