Sutton's women's team will play in the Premier Division of the London & South East Regional League today after recording their first competitive win of 2024, and their first under Lucy Clark's management, against Crawley AFC. Sutton, who had won 3-0 in the reverse fixture in September, dominated possession for long spells but struggled to create too many clear chances, the best in the first half coming from an Abbie Measures volley which was well saved by the Crawley goalkeeper, who then denied Sophie Modak from the resulting corner. The crucial moment came with just over twenty minutes to go when Jaz Backhurst found the net with a right foot volley, and Mia South and Amelia Cutler both might have added to the score before the end. Crawley are already relegated, but they battled hard to get something from the game and a late free kick went just over the bar, but Sutton defended solidly when they had to and saw the game out to move up to 8th place in the table and ensure safety with two games left, the first of which is at the VBS this Thursday when Dorking Wanderers are the visitors as U's look for a second consecutive league double following the 2-1 win at Meadowbank in October.

Team: Z McNulty, S Modak, A Measures, H Talbut-Smith, J Buckmire, H Thomas, C Pryke, J Backhurst, L Malcolm, E Clark, T-A Bussey. Subs M South, C Savage, M Creaser, A Cutler, E Meehan.

The development side came from behind to beat Oxted 3-2 in Collingwood Rec with two goals from Bonnie Quintaine and one from Lily Waters. The result means that they are likely to finish third in the Surrey Division One of the South East Counties League, but may finish second if Old Tiffinians lose their last game of the season next week against Guildford Saints, who are one place off the bottom of the table.
