Accessibility for Disabled Supporters

Access to Ground and Facilities

Sutton United FC welcomes disabled supporters and inline with the clubs equality policy disabled supporters have access to all facilities open to that of able bodied supporters where possible. The ground has a large adjacent car park which provides close and easy parking and up to 4 entrances accessible by wheelchairs. The pitch perimeter walkway is at street level and gives easy access to all sides of the ground without obstacle.

The main stand is not currently fitted with a wheelchair ramp. There is a disabled toilet on the Recreation Ground side of the stadium.  We hope to reisntae a covered viewing area for wheelchair users in summer 2016.

Admission Prices For Disabled Supporters

In line with guidance received from the Football Association, spectators with a disability will be charged the appropriate, full admission price to attend games at Sutton United. However, should a spectator with a disability require a helper then that helper will be admitted free of charge.

Website

The Club’s web-site is designed and managed by unpaid volunteers. The nature of the site, representing a football club, means that during the season it is updated on an almost daily basis. It is not considered practical to make the web-site totally accessible to persons with visual disabilities. However, the Club provides an alternative e-mail news service, in suitably large font, to any person who registers for the service, which will be provided free of charge.

Match-Day Programme and Teamsheets

With an average home gate of around 500 people, the print-run for the match day programme is only about 250 copies. It is not considered economically viable to produce programmes in a format accessible to partially sighted people. The Club does undertake to provide teamsheets in a suitably large font on request for home first team matches.

Commentaries for Visually Impaired Spectators

With an average home gate of around 500 people, it is not considered practical to provide a commentary for visually-impaired spectators on a regular basis. This is a service that the Club will consider for important games where a large crowd is anticipated (such as a tie in the FA Cup competition proper).

Any spectator requiring information regarding available facilities, or who may need particular attention or help on match-days, is welcome to contact the club in advance on 0208 644 4440 OR by clicking here
