Sutton will begin the 2019-20 season with one of the longest trips of the season, visiting Hartlepool United on Saturday 3rd August. It will be an early reunion with Sutton for striker Gime Toure, who joined Pools last month, the North-East side also having acquired Gus Mafuta from last season’s play-of winners Salford. Last season U’s recorded a fine 3-2 win in the corresponding fixture. The trip to Hartlepool is followed by a home game against Barnet on Tuesday 6 August before promoted Chorley are the visitors the following Saturday, their first visit to Sutton in thirty years.
The Christmas double header is against Woking, with U’s visiting Kingfield on Boxing Day and hosting the return fixture on New Year’s Day, while other fixtures that will be keenly awaited will be a first ever meeting with Stockport at Sutton on Saturday 5 October – the return at Edgeley Park is on Saturday 18 January. U’s will host Notts County on Saturday 7 September and will visit Meadow Lane exactly three months later.
U’s have four away midweek games, at Eastleigh, Yeovil, Dagenham and Solihull and, as well as Barnet, have home Tuesday games against Dagenham and Halifax. All the scheduled midweek games are before Christmas.
Easter weekend will see U’s at home to Aldershot on Good Friday – as last season the game at Aldershot is on August Bank Holiday Monday – and away to Dover on Easter Monday, and the season finishes on 25 April at Maidenhead.
It should be noted that kick off times are subject to change, particularly on Saturdays to accommodate live coverage by BT Sport, whose games this season will in the main kick off at 5.30pm.
The 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup is on Saturday 19 October and the first round of the FA Trophy on Saturday 14 December.
