We are delighted to announce that SCL Education will be the official Sutton United College Academy Education partner from September 2024. This new partnership will continue the excellent provision already in place. This will offer 16-19-year-olds a structured programme combining an excellent football pathway via coaching and competitive matches and SCL’s superb track record in delivering a top-class education.

The college has produced many success stories, including current Blackpool striker Kylian Kouassi who was a part of the program a few years ago. The 21-year old would appear 40 times for the U’s after rising through the ranks, scoring two goals, and following loan spells throughout non-league at Bedfont Sports, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Chesham United, made his Football League debut as a late substitute in Sutton’s 3–0 home victory over Rochdale. He would make three further substitute appearances during the 2021/22 season, scoring his first competitive goal in September 2022 after coming off the bench in a 2–1 home win over Harrogate Town. Upon the expiry of his contract, Kouassi earned a move to League One side Blackpool in 2023, where he has featured 16 times.

SUFC College Academy Lead Harry Martin said “We are looking forward to working with SCL from September. They have a brilliant track record with over 20 years of experience and have educated over 25,000 students and that is something that Sutton United wants to be a part of moving forward.”
Sutton United College Academy Head of Recruitment Luke Taylor said ” Everyone on the Sutton United College Programme is excited to work with SCL from September. The key thing for us as a college programme is that we make the infrastructure ourselves, develop it and nurse it best so that the players thrive on that, whether the environment doesn’t feel like a school, we want to keep that environment where they are with us to learn, develop as a person and also develop as a footballer and help them create their footballing pathway and having SCL on board to help lead this alongside us is very exciting.”
We currently offer NCFE qualification in Sports Coaching which is the equivalent to 4 A-Levels and will help contribute to UCAS Points and progressing to university. The education course and football training will all be based at AFC Whyteleafe, Church Road, Whyteleafe, Surrey, CR3 0AR. The course will officially start on Monday 9th September 2024.
