We were delighted to receive this unsolicited email this morning from a visiting Tranmere supporter. (all names removed).

We came to you as Tranmere fans yesterday and we didn’t do so well, but I  wanted to pass on thanks and gratitude to your fans and staff.I am speaking on behalf of lots of us and I have never contacted another club before. We were treated with such friendliness unlike anything we have ever experienced anywhere else. We were invited into your social club, we were invited to join the stand and when we lost the match, we were even consoled by some of your fans who shook our hand and wished us a safe journey home.In my 31 years of supporting every Tranmere game I have never experienced such warmth and it touched a great deal of us deeply. This is how football should be and your example was humbling. I wish all of our fans were as well-behaved and positive to visiting fans. Please pass this on to your fans as they should all be rewarded for such friendliness, and to the two girls who consoled us at the end of the match, you are perfect examples of how we should allbehave. I want Tranmere to do well, but from now on, I shall also be cheering on Sutton and nothing would make me happier than both of us going up together at the end of the season. Well here’s hoping! With much appreciation, etc
