After a hard-earned draw at Cambridge on Saturday, where Head of Academy Coaching Glen Nichols was delighted with a clean sheet following a run of defeats just before Christmas, Sutton’s academy side have a home midweek game on Tuesday as they host Gillingham, one of the sides to beat them in the league in December (above), in the last game in Group South East 2 in the EFL Youth Alliance Cup.
Sutton need to win by at least two goals to progress to the knockout stages otherwise Gillingham, who are unbeaten in their three previous group games, will go through along with Bromley, who inflicted Sutton’s only group defeat and have already qualified.
The game is at Cheam Sports Club in Peaches Close, kick off 12 noon, and admission is free.
