Welcome to striker Ashley Nadesan, who has joined Sutton United from Gillingham on a season-long loan.
29-year-old Ashley first came to attention while playing for Horley Town in the Combined Counties League, scoring nearly 100 goals in two seasons and earning a move to Fleetwood Town at the end of the 2015-16 season. He made over twenty League One appearances for Fleetwood, and had two successful loan spells at Carlisle, before joining Crawley in May 2019.
Ashley went on to play around 150 games for Crawley over the next four seasons, his goals including one in their televised 3-0 FA Cup win over Leeds in January 2021. At the start of last season he moved to Gillingham, scoring the only goal of the game in Gills’ 1-0 win at Gander Green Lane in August having scored against Southampton in the Carabao Cup the previous week.
Head Coach Steve Morison said: “Bringing Nadders to Sutton United is a significant boost for our squad. His pace, energy, and goal-scoring ability will be vital for us this season. Ashley is a player we’ve had our eye on for a while, and his friendship with Harry Ransom and our first team coach Jon Meeney played a crucial role in making this move happen”.
We welcome Ashley to Sutton United and wish him a successful season with us.
