A survey published by the BBC yesterday, The Price Of Football, has revealed the U’s to have the cheapest adult season tickets in the top five divisions of English Football. Click here to see the full results of the survey.

Chairman Bruce Elliott is pleased that the club’s decision to slash season ticket prices so radically has brought dividends. "We introduced this scheme two years ago and this season we have sold over a thousand season tickets and our average gate is 1600, that’s a 150% increase. Promotion has obviously helped maintain the momentum but a large element of this increase came last season. Despite the lower season ticket prices our total gate income has increased significantly and we are also experiencing increased levels of sales in the bars and club shop and at the catering outlets.  But more than that, more people in the ground means a better atmosphere and the players respond to that. We are very pleased with the decision we made and are working very hard to maintain the momentum."
