We are delighted to confirm the signing of Kosovo youth international Besart Topallaj from Bromley, joining on loan until January with a view to extend it until the end of the season.
The young defender adds to an already stacked backline, and will add quality and competition to Steve Morison’s defensive unit.
Progressing through the Millwall academy, Topallaj had captained the under-21 side before earning a spot with the first team in training, and would gain his first taste of senior football when he joined Dagenham & Redbridge on a one-month loan deal in 2022, appearing once in a nine-goal thriller with Barnet.
He would later return to the National League again on loan when he joined Bromley, before the move was made permanent after just a month. The 23-year old has gone on to play 70 times for the Ravens, starting all but ten games in the club’s promotion-winning campaign to League Two.
On his new recruit, Morison claimed “We’re thrilled to bring Besart to Sutton United. He’s a player with a great pedigree, having developed at Millwall and proven himself further with Bromley.”
“His versatility and energy will be a real asset to the squad, and I’m confident he’ll make a significant impact both on and off the pitch.”
Topallaj will wear the number 33 during his stint at the VBS Community Stadium.
Welcome to Sutton United, Besart!
