With his additional responsibilities under the EFL, Bobby Childs has stepped down from his Head of Foundation role and a new post of Head of Foundation & Community Development has been created to develop the Foundation and associated community activities.

We were delighted to receive such a lot of high standard applications for the role. Following interviews and a presentation on what he can bring to the position, we are delighted to announce that Duncan Muller (below) has been appointed to the position of Head of Foundation & Community Development

Football Club Vice-Chairman, Adrian Barry, stated: “The appointment panel was very impressed with Duncan’s presentation and his vision for how the Foundation can grow in the coming years.”

For his part Duncan said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to develop this very important arm of the Club and to build on the great work already undertaken by the Foundation. I am keen to develop partnerships with other local organisations and bodies in order to expand our involvement with the community and meet the objectives of the Foundation. Having been at the club for a number of years, I have seen how much we have grown in all areas and I hope to grow the Foundation and add more to our brilliant club. I will continue as chairman of the Women & Girls Football and 1st Team manager and can’t wait to begin this new chapter.”

In addition, Adrian Barry has decided to stand down as Chairman of the Foundation to concentrate on his Club duties but will remain as a trustee. His place as chairman has been taken by Phil Hedger, Chief Executive of the Leo Academy Trust who has had a long-term association with the Club and has worked with Duncan in the past.

The last word goes to the chairman of the club Board of Directors, Dave Farebrother: “I would like to thank both Adrian and Bobby who have done great work in helping to set up and run the Foundation and I am certain Duncan’s appointment will see still further community initiatives developed”
