Sutton United’s Disability U’s team maintained their 100% start to the season in the South East Pan-Disability League Southern Division at the weekend with a convincing victory against a good Chelsea team.

The U’s broke the deadlock after fifteen minutes when the hard-working Tom Kawolski broke through the Chelsea defence to square to his strike partner Jack Brooker who opened the scoring. Chelsea came back strongly and would have equalised but fine defending Jamie Dearling and U’s captain Matt Skelley managed to keep a shot out of the net.

Shaun Mills added a second for the U’s but just on the stroke of half time Chelsea grabbed a goal back, and the second half saw Chelsea starting to push the U’s backline hard and on a few occasions coming close to the equaliser. However U’s survived the pressure and  gained back control, and Brooker added his second to make the score 3-1.

Chelsea continued to apply pressure but then Kawolski broke away and again set up Brooker to complete his hat-trick (below), maintaining U’s fine start to the season following on from last month’s 5-1 win at Folkestone, where Brooker and Kawolski scored two each and Luke Fox one.

The next game is against Welling on 16 November – you can find details of the league table here.
