Paul Doswell has confirmed that with next season in mind Matt Tubbs and Dan Fitchett have been given the opportunity to find new clubs. Dan Fitchett in particular has played a major part in our rise to the National League and we wish both players well. Seb Brown has been appointed the new goalkeeping coach, and at 27 will also help deputise if Ross gets injured.
Paul has also allowed Pape Gueye and Jeffrey Monakana to get valuable game time at Margate, as a lack of competitive football this season means they need match sharpness. Both played very well on Saturday and we look forward to monitoring their progress.
Craig Dundas has also been appointed to oversee a new department which will encompass, fitness, strength and conditioning, nutrition and opposition analysis and he will be taking additional coaching responsibilities on a Monday and Friday. "We have learnt so much this season and Craig’s appointment will cover a number of areas that we can improve on. I’m really excited by this appointment, as Craig is a huge part of the fabric of our club and is very keen to move into this area, which he already has some experience in. Craig will continue as a valuable member of the squad and his recent performances against Solihull Moors and particularly Guiseley confirm this."
"We can now offer all of our players extra sessions on Mondays and Fridays, as they strive to improve and reach their individual goals.Craig will be able to help all our players on a more one to one basis, and we hope this will prove attractive when talking to prospective new signings."
"We have a clear strategy, where improving players can enable them to achieve the highest potential they can, whilst keeping a spine of experience in Collins, Amankwaah, Bailey, Downer and Beckwith. We’ve seen this season with Tom, Dan and Ross moving to full-time football, and Roarie Deacon’s huge improvement from playing regularly and enjoying his work that we have a real opportunity as a club to progress in a quite unique manner. Adam Coombes, Jeffrey Monakana, Jack Jebb and Kieron Cadogen are all in this category and I’m so enthused they have chosen Sutton United as they all want to improve and progress."
"I am ever more convinced that as a club we are progressing without needing to be in the top 12-14 budgets in the National League and throwing money at League 1 and 2 players who at aged thirty plus offer little improvement or commitment to the Club. All these recent new signings have a clear work ethic, live locally to the ground and have all bought into the ‘Sutton United Way’. I am extremely proud of this group of players and the desire to do well for the club and its fantastic supporters. Our mantra of "In it together" has really struck a chord, and with the club now clearly being a hub of the local community it really is a magical time to be involved.
With all our Junior teams, Steve King’s amazing disability teams, and one hundred 16-year olds starting in our Academy on site from next September under Marvin Williams’ excellent guidance, the future is very bright."
"An evening with Bruce and Dos is another night I’m really looking forward to and I hope to see as many of you as possible for what I’m sure will be the best yet."
