As Director of Rugby at Mitcham and Carshalton RFC, Ed was an integral player in developing club facilities and growing income by increasing facility hire, events and hospitality and community engagement. Previously, he was Partnership Director at American Express and is currently Business Development Director at S&P Global. He has also been working with us here at SUFC on a variety of projects this Summer, was instrumental in sourcing the new superb training ground and catering services for our first team in Harlington; he also set up and established the deal with Signal Brewery for our new home and away FanZones and implemented an extensive redecoration programme in our main club building. His Business Development remit now, as our Chief Commercial Officer, will be to work closely with existing club officers to bring in additional revenue by, amongst other things, increasing bar revenue, facility hire and events bookings, improving ticketing income by looking at ways of further increasing attendances and facilitating our ticket sales process, and by working with our hard-working Commercial team to bring in new business and additional sponsorship and advertising leads.

CEO Adrian Barry commented: “We are delighted Ed is happy to give his time to help us explore ways of increasing income opportunities for the club. Everyone can see for themselves the brilliant changes that Matt and his team have effected ON the pitch; it is absolutely incumbent on us to make sure that we drive forward and maximise the potential of our fabulous club OFF the pitch too, and Ed will join the amazing team of people we are so lucky to have who are committed to doing just that for Sutton United. We are all looking forward to working together to continue this special journey we are all on”.
