Exempt to this stage after the first team’s promotion to the EFL, U’s youngsters will be hoping to emulate last season’s run, which ended with a third round tie away to Liverpool played at the Liverpool Academy ground, and in which U’s emerged with great credit despite an eventual 6-0 scoreline.
Marvin Williams and Ricky Wellard are hoping for a good crowd at the VBS tonight to see the players who are the future of Sutton United, with one of last season’s academy players, Kylian Kouassi, having signed a senior contract in the summer.
Admission is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions and juniors. Extra time will be played if necessary, and if the scores remain level then the game will be decided on penalties.
The sides have already met in the EFL Youth Alliance, Sutton winning 4-0 at Gillingham, and sit level on points in the current league table, Sutton above the Gills on goal difference.
The club shop will be open from 6pm this evening, selling tickets for this Saturday’s FA Cup tie away to Hayes & Yeading, as well as the Papa John’s Trophy game at home to AFC Wimbledon next Tuesday and the away Sky Bet League Two games at Tranmere and Leyton Orient. See the news article released on Sunday for full details of prices.
The second batch of replacement season tickets is also now available for collection from the shop, which as well as before tonight’s game will also be open from Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 12 noon.
