The club’s directors are having weekly virtual meetings as well as keeping in touch every day by e-mail and the board "met" again on Tuesday evening.

All of the clubs in the competition are in daily contact with the National League, who are in turn in discussion with the FA and other parties. They know that we need early decisions and we are hopeful of having greater certainty in the next few days. Despite all of this uncertainty, we are very pleased to confirm that the club will be paying all of its employees, players and others, in full for the month of March. Another bright spot at the moment is our academy, they are able to continue to provide lessons to our students through distance learning, using an online teaching portal.

Added to the uncertainty around Government interventions we still have no clear picture of what is happening within football. Will the current season be voided or finished and, if so, when ? What will the implications be for promotion and relegation ? What does all this mean for player contracts and registrations ? The various relief packages announced by the Government were very welcome but we await the clarity of application before we are able to act upon them.

The stadium, 3G pitch and social facilities, are closed until further notice.

As Chairman, I continue to be impressed by the club’s directors and also by our other officers. It would be an obvious nonsense to claim that we all share the same opinions on every point, but we are all 100% agreed on our direction and what outcomes we want to achieve. Everyone is playing their part and trying their hardest to overcome a set of circumstances stranger than we could have ever anticipated. It’s also great to see our supporters and players doing their bit to raise everyone’s spirits.
