We are delighted to confirm the return, albeit in a very small way, of football to our stadium. In line with the revised government regulations and guidance issued by the Football Association we have agreed to permit small groups to commence coaching sessions on our 3G pitch.  These will either be one-to-one coaching sessions or for groups of up to six people.  This usage will be strictly controlled and limited to a handful of established users of the pitch.  The rules governing the opening of the stadium and management of the coaching sessions are very strict and are designed to preserve social distancing rules and maintain good standards of hygiene.

This week we received notice that our young striker, Tommy Wright, wishes to exercise his right to move on for next season. We did try to keep Tommy at the club but, as we know, he was experiencing difficulties travelling up from his home near Southampton several times every week. Tommy is now free to join whichever club he wishes but Sutton United remains entitled to compensation for any transfer, either by way of a negotiated fee or through a decision made by a FA tribunal. Naturally, we thank Tommy for his efforts with us and some amazing goals and wish him well in the next stage of his career.

Season ticket sales have now hit the 300-mark and we have extended the Early Bird deadline until the end of June.

We would like to thank the many volunteers who offered to help with the general spring-clean of the stadium.

We are pleased to see how well received the fish and chip outlet in the car park has been, and hope that people will also like the new unit selling bedding plants and hanging baskets that will also be there on Fridays, between 5pm and 8pm.

Finally, can we draw your attention to SUFCtv next Wednesday evening, when they will be revealing our Player of the Year awards winners in a special  show complete with highlights from the season.

Even though there has been some relaxation of the restrictions that we have all had to become accustomed to, please remember that everything is not back to normal.

Stay Safe and please follow the Government’s rules and guidelines on social distancing and don’t forget to help others.
