From The Boardroom – 8
Well, although there has been quite a lot going on in the background in terms of paperwork and general admin, there is not a great deal of new activity to report on this week.
We were obviously pleased to hear that the Government is extending the Job Retention Scheme for another few months, as this takes a bit of stress out of the situation for a little longer. The Football Foundation has also made money available to help prepare pitches for the new season, and that is something that we hope we can benefit from.
Although we obviously still cannot get together with the players in person, we do feel it is important to try and maintain as much of a semblance of normality as we can and so we have been making plans for an online “ceremony” to present our usual end of season awards.
As mentioned last week, we will be welcoming a mobile fish and chip service to the club on Fridays and this will begin operating on 22nd May (between 4pm and 9pm) and more details can be found on our website and in our weekly newsletter.
Despite the slight easing of travel guidance announced by the Government this week, please continue to follow the rules and guidelines on social distancing and make sure you stay safe and protect others and, if you do have friends or neighbours who are on their own, remember to make sure they are ok.
