Seventy two golfers competed in the annual Sutton United Charity Golf Day at Banstead Downs Golf Club on 28th March. In glorious weather, Sydenham CC Old Boys ran out as the Team Winners with 95 points. W.T Interiors claimed the Runners-Up spot (94 points). Dave Thoroughgood, W.T Interiors Ltd, won the Singles event with 42 pts. Eammon Hunt was a point further back in 2nd place. Nearest-the-Pin was won by John Payne of The Sparks and Mark Jordan, Sydenham CC Old Boys, hit the Longest Drive.Special guests included Alan Cork (ex-Wimbledon), Dean Wilkins (ex-Brighton) and Gary Chivers (ex-Chelsea). £2,200 was raised on the day for St. Helier & Surrey Kidney Patients Association and SUFC. Next year’s Golf Day returns to Banstead Downs on Thursday 26 March 2020.  Many thanks from the club to Paul Liddiard for yet again arranging this very popular event.
