We are pleased to be supporting an imaginative new transport service for the borough that will also help more supporters to travel to and from our home matches.
GoSutton, a partnership between Transport For London and ViaVan, has been designed to offer passengers a new way of travelling around the borough, in effect a personalised bus service.
The service takes multiple passengers heading in the same direction and books them into a shared bus.
Once you’ve downloaded the app, you request a ride, select your pick-up and drop-off points and pay directly through the app (which is available for iPhone or Android). Rides can also be booked over the phone.
Sutton United director Dave Farebrother commented, “As a sustainability professional for more than thirty years I think this is one of the most innovative solutions I have seen to help reduce environmental impacts and provide the community with an effective, safe transport service.”
GoSutton currently operates 7 days a week from 06.30 until 21.30, in the service area outlined on the map on their website. Rides cost £3.50 and you can add additional passengers to your ride for £2.00 each (Freedom Pass and English National Concessionary Travel Scheme pass holders ride for free, as do children under the age of 5). All GoSutton buses are wheelchair accessible. More info can be found on facebook.com/gosutton or at gosutton.co.uk.
GoSutton are also offering a special promotion to Sutton fans as an introductory offering. Download the app and enter promo code GOFOOTBALL to get £7 free Ride Credit, which will pay for your first two rides.
