Sutton’s second pre-season friendly sees a visit to North London on Saturday to take on Isthmian League Haringey Borough, a game arranged as part of the deal that brought defender Coby Rowe to Gander Green Lane. It will be the only pre-season game that U’s will play that will be watched by spectators at the ground, with a limit of 600 set for the game. Tickets are still on sale, and can be purchased here. Supporters are reminded that a ticket MUST be bought before travelling to the game, there will be no pay on the day admission at the turnstiles.
The ground is in White Hart Lane, postcode N17 7JP, and can be reached either by National Rail services from Liverpool Street to White Hart Lane every 15 minutes, or by Piccadilly Line to Wood Green, with bus W3 going past the ground from either station. Sutton supporters should enter the Coles Park ground via the Fenton Road turnstile (postcode N17 7JL).
Haringey finished just below mid-table in the Isthmian League last season, their second at that level having reached the play-offs in their first, and they have made great progress in recent years. Sutton have visited Coles Lane once before, in the mid 1970s when Graham Dennis scored four times in a 7-2 London Senior Cup win against the then Edmonton & Haringey.
Manager Matt Gray will again play a number of triallists in the game, but will not be able to include Omar Bugiel and Ben Goodliffe, who came out of Tuesday’s game against Eastbourne with wrist and shoulder injuries respectively. Playing at centre back will be Coby Rowe, who made the move to Sutton in January, and he spoke to SUFCtv on Thursday about his return. You can watch the interview here.
For those not making the trip to North London SUFCtv will, with the kind agreement of Haringey Borough, be providing a free live stream of the game. A link to the coverage will appear on the website on Saturday.
