Sutton’s third pre-season friendly this season sees Head Coach Steve Morison return to his former club as U’s visit Hornchurch on Tuesday evening, kick off 7.45pm. We will be wearing green.

Steve was in charge at the Essex club for the first half of last season until moving to Sutton, leaving them in a commanding position in the Isthmian League Premier Division, and under the subsequent guidance of Daryl McMahon they went on to win the Championship, finishing 21 points ahead of second placed Chatham and gaining promotion to National League South after an eleven year absence.

This is Sutton’s first visit to the Hornchurch Stadium since February 2013 when Craig Dundas scored for U’s in a 1-1 draw, with Hornchurch relegated at the end of the season.

Admission is £5 for everyone on Tuesday, with tickets available on line here until 5pm on Tuesday, after which admission is pay at the turnstile by cash or card.

Hornchurch’s ground is in Bridge Avenue, Upminster, RM14 2LX. Car parking is available on a first come first served basis – if the car park is full, street parking is available. It is a 15 minute walk from Upminster station, which is served by a frequent National Rail service from Fenchurch Street, connecting at West Ham with the Jubilee Line from London Bridge. Turn left out of the station and at the main crossroads turn right in to St Mary’s Lane. Bridge Avenue is then on the left. Upminster is also the end of the District Line, about an hour from Victoria, although if using the District Line Upminster Bridge is the closer station – turn right out of the station and Bridge Avenue is second on the right.
