Steve Morison has provided an injury update on Dillon De Silva and Josh Coley.
The Head Coach confirmed the nature of the two injured players, with both set to miss up to six weeks with respective hamstring injuries.
“Dillon had initially picked up a knock at Maidenhead United last month, but aggravated the problem at Forest Green Rovers” said Morison. “It’s especially disappointing for him given the run of form he had been on, but hopefully should return in around four weeks”.
De Silva had also missed the opening two months of the season with a MCL injury at the start of the season, sustained on the opening day of the season against Tamworth.
“As for Coley, he needed to be taken off on the weekend with a hamstring injury” added the Head Coach. “He’s having a scan and fingers crossed it will come back positive, but is set to miss four to six weeks.”
“We are continuing to monitor both, and hopefully they will both make a return before the end of the season.
As previously reported, Jayden Harris and Alex Kirk are both set to miss the rest of the season, the former missing the last four months with a ruptured Achilles while the latter sustained a back injury last month.
“Both are progressing well”, claimed Morison. “Jayden has shown excellent work. He’s the first in every day and is extremely keen to make his long-awaited return to action, while Kirky has worked ever so hard in his recovery. We look forward to seeing them back sooner rather than later.”
This is in addition to an ankle injury sustained by Lewis Simper midway through the campaign, but he has remained a regular figure at the heart of Sutton’s midfield ever since and will remain a key part of the squad.
