SUFC Business Club v Crawley Town Business Club 7 May 2019

On a bright sunny morning on 7th May for the first time a Sutton United Business Club XI took on a Crawley Town Business Club XI.  More than 30 players had volunteered, and the match was 30 minutes each way, with rolling (and often falling over) substitutes.  It was an entertaining, good-natured but highly competitive match, with action at both ends and both goalkeepers making good saves.  Crawley Town took the lead in the fifth minute, but Sutton equalised a minute later and from then on ran out 8-1 winners.

After the match, the first joint networking event for both Business Clubs took place.  Some 50 attendees enjoyed four presentations and Q&A sessions, two from Crawley, covering graphic design and occupational health and two from Sutton, looking at data compliance and debt recovery. The presentations were followed by a buffet lunch and further opportunities for networking.

Our thanks to Abbotts for organizing the event and to Crawley Town for hosting it.  Everyone agreed that it had been a thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile event and we are looking forward to the return event at Sutton in September.
