Wimbledon took the lead inside the first two minutes, punishing some hesitancy in the Sutton penalty area, but U’s responded well and had a goal ruled out for offside within five minutes. Jake Tones was unlucky not to equalise just before half time when his dipping angled shot came back off the underside of the bar, and although Wimbledon missed a good early chance in the second half when a striker lobbed wide when clean through, Sutton enjoyed a lot of pressure in the second half and were finally rewarded when Olabiyi swept a shot beyond the goalkeeper from a low right wing cross with just under ten minutes left.
