Sutton United’s on-loan players have gained some more crucial minutes throughout October.
Midfielder Jack Wadham returned to his former club Worthing on loan earlier on in the month, on a deal lasting until January, and has made a positive start to his development. Jack has gone on to make five appearances, including a start in the 2-0 loss to League Two opposition Morecambe Town in the First Round of the Emirates FA Cup. Wadham also started in the wins against Welling United, Plymouth Parkway and Bath City, as well as being subbed on at half time in the 2-0 loss to Maidstone United.
Wadham was joined in the temporary departure lounge by Junior Eccleston, who had joined Southern League Premier Division South side Walton & Herham fresh off his league debut for the U’s at the end of September. Eccleston appeared twice for the Swans last month, debuting in the FA Trophy against Ashford United before making his first league start the following week against Winchester City.
Over in Wales, Jay Williams featured in all of Merthyr’s Town’s games which saw the Welsh side go undefeated in the league. The Martyrs currently sit top of the Southern Premier Division South with their only defeat of the month coming in the FA Trophy to AFC Totton. Jay started in wins over Plymouth Parkway, Frome Town and Marlow, as well as featuring in the aforementioned defeat to Totton.
Meanwhile, Jack Rose featured in all eight of Hednesford Town’s games in October. Rose featured in the draws to Wythenshawe, Witton Albion, Gateshead Town, Hanley Town, as well as featuring in a 2-1 loss to Atherton Collies. Most notably, Rose contributed to a 3-1 win in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round Replay against National League outfit Gateshead, causing a major cup upset which saw the Northern Premier League Division One West side overcome a side two divisions above them, and would go on to face Gainsborough Trinity in the First Round.
Jack Taylor continued to gain National League South experience with Hampton & Richmond Borough, playing every minute for the third month in a row. Taylor featured in the wins against Chippenham Town and Eastbourne Borough, finding himself on the scoresheet against the latter with a bullet header to level the score, before Mauro Vilhete and Jake Gray struck in the second half to seal a 3-1 victory. Jack also featured in the losses to Truro City, St Albans City and Torquay United.
