Independent travellers going by car should take the M1 and A1 and then leave to join the A64 towards York. Continue on the A64 to by-pass the city to the south and east, then on reaching the A1237 ring road north east of the city take the first exit at the roundabout to follow the ring road, then the first exit at the next roundabout in to Malton Road, the A1036. Continue until the next roundabout by the Monks Cross and Vangarde shopping centres, and take the second exit to enter the shopping centre and stadium complex. Parking at the Park & Ride next to the ground can be booked at £5 per car at the same time as buying a match ticket. The Vangarde Shopping Park offers parking for up to six hours with a minimum spend of £5 in one of their stores or restaurants. Proof of purchase is required and you will need to give your car registration to one of their stewards.
By rail there are plenty of direct services from King’s Cross to York, taking between two and two and a half hours. The number 9 bus from the station (stop RJ) goes every twelve minutes to the Monks Cross Park & Ride by the ground. Train travellers should note that there are no through Thameslink services to St Pancras from Sutton on Saturday – all Thameslink services from Sutton are terminating at Blackfriars. Trains to Victoria are operating as normal, from Victoria take the Victoria Line to Kings Cross.
