Northampton currently lie in 5th place as they look to regain the League One place they lost at the end of last season, although in the form table of the last six games U’s are one place above them. They have been beaten once at home, by Rochdale but have beaten Scunthorpe and Port Vale, and drawn with Swindon.
Striker Nicke Kabamba will be a familiar name to U’s supporters having faced us for both Havant & Waterlooville and Hartlepool, while the leading scorer this season is defender Jon Guthrie, who has scored three from centre back.
Sutton have Tobi Sho-Silva and goalkeeper Brad House out through injury, and manager Matt Gray has signed Harry Palmer on a month’s contract to cover in goal while Brad is injured. The 26-year-old was most recently with Billericay and last season had spells with Yeovil and Ebbsfleet, and has a wealth of experience in the non-league game. Also back in the squad is Adam Lovatt, who has returned at the end of his month’s loan at Tonbridge. Matt comments on the signing of Harry, and Adam’s return, in an interview which will appear in the video news gallery later.
Saturday’s referee is Rebecca Welch, who became the first female referee to be appointed to the Football League list last season.
