Sutton United Football Club can confirm that George Evans has returned to Millwall following the conclusion of his loan spell.

The 19-year old arrived at the VBS Community Stadium at the start of January on a month-long loan to provide cover for the injured Jack Sims, and got off to a remarkable start to life with the U’s.

A Man of the Match-worthy display on his debut saw him contribute to a 1-0 victory over Tamworth in the Isuzu FA Trophy Fourth Round, with a handful of outstanding saves throughout the match to keep the Lambs at bay with the pick of the bunch being an outrageous point blank stop to deny Kyle Finn early on.

In all, Evans appeared three times for the U’s, featuring against Wealdstone and West Bromwich Albion, and added to his array of good performances by keeping out three penalties in the latter to help Sutton win the shootout in the National League Cup, with some strong stops to deny Cole Deeming, Noah DuPont and Matthew Richards.

We would like to thank George for his contribution over the last month and wish him all the best for the future.
