Sutton United are delighted to announce the loan signing of Kain Adom from Gateshead until the end of the season.
Arriving on his second temporary stint of the season, the attacker will add plenty of quality on the flanks to Steve Morison’s side, with additional depth allowing the Head Coach to freshen up his options following the injuries to Dillon De Silva and Josh Coley.
The 23-year old began his career Hanwell Town, where he shot through the lower leagues and earned a move to Welling United, where he struck seven goals in 23 appearances for the Wings.
His form in the National League South had seen him receive interest from elsewhere, and Adom made the jump up to the fifth tier with a move to Gateshead midway through the 2023/24 campaign.
The explosive winger subsequently enjoyed a rapid impact on the Heed, netting his first goal in just second appearance, and went on to be a key part of former boss Rob Elliot’s team with 20 appearances to his name come the end of the season.
He since added a further 27 appearances this term during the first half of the season, but found himself in the departure lounge at the Gateshead International Stadium last month following the departure of Mike Williamson, with a loan move to AFC Fylde being confirmed in February.
However, the dismissal of Kevin Phillips brought a change in leadership at Mill Farm, and thus saw Adom deemed surplus to requirements during his short stay in Lancashire. As a result he is now on the move again with a switch to Sutton, where he will remain until the end of the season.
Upon capturing Adom, Head Coach Morison said:
“I’m delighted to get this deal over the line. Kain is a talented boy who deserves to be playing regular football.
He’s shown his ability at Gateshead and will now offer us some great depth on the flank heading into the final months of the season.”
The winger will wear the number 39 during his stint at the VBS Community Stadium.
Welcome to Sutton United, Kain!
