We are delighted to announce the signing of Henry Sandat on a permanent deal from Hull City.

The young forward is the third addition to Steve Morison’s side since the opening of the winter window, and will offer further reinforcements up front.

Born in Chalkwell, Southend-on-Sea, Sandat began his career with hometown club Southend United and went on to spend ten years at Roots Hall, going on to score the winning goal on his senior debut for the Shrimpers in a 1-0 victory over Gateshead.

He would go on to appear 12 times for the club during the 2022/23 season before departing amid the Shrimpers’ financial issues. The 19-year old would make the jump up to Championship outfit Hull and initially joined the Tigers’ academy setup, although he briefly returned to Roots Hall on loan for the second half of the 2023/24 campaign and added a further 15 Southend appearances to his name.

In search of regular first team football, Sandat returned to the National League on loan once more back in August when he joined Wealdstone, playing 14 times for the Stones in their battle against relegation before being recalled in order to facilitate the move to the VBS Community Stadium.

Head Coach Morison commented upon securing Sandat’s signature, saying “Henry is a talented boy who is keen to grow as a player, and I believe this is the perfect place for him to develop.

He showed his potential at Southend and will bring us quality competition up front”.

Welcome to Sutton United, Henry!
