Sutton United Football Club is delighted to confirm that Siju Odelusi has agreed a new deal, with the club triggering an extension clause on his previous contract that will keep him at the club for an additional year.
The 26-year old has been a regular figure in the centre of the park, and has received plaudits for his tenacity and energy in midfield, making 17 appearances in all competitions for the club since arriving from Aveley last summer.
He became Steve Morison’s second signing of the summer window having signed as early a last May, and scored his first Sutton goal on his home debut when he netted the fourth and final goal of the first half from the spot against Altrincham, in what would prove to be a 5-0 mauling in just the second Vanarama National League match of the season.
Odelusi then notched his second goal for the club, again from the spot, when he completed the comeback in the Isuzu FA Trophy Fourth Qualifying Round with a late penalty that saw the U’s come from 3-1 down to draw 3-3, before netting in the subsequent shootout that Sutton went on to win.
A popular member in the dressing room, Odelusi joins Eduino Vaz and Tyler French in securing their status as Sutton players for an extra year, with both agreeing new deals themselves earlier this week.
Congratulations, Siju!
