Manager Matt Gray has confirmed that defender Coby Rowe and midfielder Adam Lovatt have both signed contracts to remain at Gander Green Lane for the club’s first season in the EFL. 25-year-old Coby joined from Haringey Borough in January 2020 and enjoyed a fine start to last season (below, in the first game of the season v Maidenhead) before a serious kidney injury saw him sidelined for much of the rest of the campaign while Adam, 22, joined from Hastings last season and made his debut at Barnet in the last game of the season, hitting the bar with U’s best effort (above).

Matt said: ”I’m delighted that two excellent young players have signed on for next season. Adam did really well in the game at Barnet and is an exciting young prospect, and we’re looking forward to working with him next season. Coby was absolutely outstanding at the start of last season until suffering a horrendous injury, and I’m sure next season he’s going to be really pushing Ben Goodliffe and Louis John for their places.”
