Henry Sandat joined the U’s from Hull City in January 2025, having spent the first half of the season on loan at Wealdstone. Born in Chalkwell, Southend-on-Sea, Sandat began his career with hometown club Southend United and went on to spend ten years at Roots Hall, going on to score the winning goal on his senior debut for the Shrimpers in a 1-0 victory over Gateshead. He would go on to appear 12 times for the club during the 2022/23 season before departing amid the Shrimpers’ financial issues. The 19-year old would make the jump up to Championship outfit Hull and initially joined the Tigers’ academy setup, although he briefly returned to Roots Hall on loan for the second half of the 2023/24 campaign and added a further 15 Southend appearances to his name. In search of regular first team football, Sandat returned to the National League on loan once more back in August when he joined Wealdstone, playing 14 times for the Stones in their battle against relegation before being recalled in order to facilitate the move to the VBS Community Stadium.
