Young wing-back Junior Robinson joined Sutton on loan from West Ham United at the start of February, have impressed against the U’s in the National League Cup in which he scored in his first appearance at the VBS Community Stadium. Hailing from Bethnal Green, Robinson joined the Academy of Football as a six-year-old after being spotted playing for Sunday League team Senrab FC in Forest Gate – a stone’s throw away from London Stadium – and rose through the ranks at a place he has called home for nearly 14 years. In the summer of 2022, following a season that saw Robinson make 28 outings for the U18s and earn two appearances in the Premier League Cup for the U23s, the full-back signed professional terms with the Club, before enjoying a an impressive 2023/24 campaign in the U21s that later saw the 19-year-old put pen to paper on a new deal until June 2026. A regular attacking threat down the right, Robinson is comfortable as a full-back, wing-back, or winger and has made ten appearances for the U21s this term, helping Steve Potts’s side reach the last 16 of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy and a Premier League International Cup semi-final. Robinson has also previously represented England at U15s level, but cites his proudest achievement as his Young Lions debut at U17 level against Belgium in late 2020.
