The U’s Community Team had a fantastic day at the George Best Cup in Belfast only to fall marginally short at the very last hurdle. Despite going all day unbeaten, with 3 wins out of 4 games in their group games and a 2-0 win in the semi-final, the U’s had to settle for the runners-up prize following a 1-1 draw in the final against Llandudno, who won the penalty shoot-out.
"It’s a cruel way to lose a final," said manager Steve King, "but I am very proud of the team and we have had a wonderful time. This is a fantastic tournament, we have made so many friends on our two trips here and we have done brilliantly to reach the final."
