Manager Matt Gray has confirmed that U’s will field a strong squad on Tuesday night when Sutton host Horley Town in the first round of the Surrey Senior Cup, with midfielder Wayne Brown (above) set to play a part for the first time since suffering a serious knee injury midway through last season. Matt said: ”With no game on Saturday there are a number of players who need more minutes having not featured so much recently, so the likes of Ben Dudzinski, Ben Wyatt, Will Randall and Aaron Jarvis will benefit from the game and it will also be useful for Tommy Wright to have another full game, while we’re hopeful that Tom Bolarinwa will be able to play after being out injured recently and Wayne is looking forward to getting back on the pitch. We’ll add in some of the academy players such as Jeremiah Gyebi and Toby Byron, and Marvin Williams will be involved in the running of the side along with Jason and Micky.”
One player who won’t feature again this season is defender Crossley Lema (above), who has joined Leatherhead on a permanent basis having been on loan at Fetcham Grove recently. Matt explained: ”Crossley wanted regular first team football and I didn’t think he was quite ready to be offered that at National League level, but we’ll monitor his progress and the door certainly isn’t shut on him returning to us in the future.”
