It was a red-letter day for club treasurer Rob Oakes, whose ball (number 30) was pulled out of the Strikers are Key purple velvet bag by new Hall of Fame inductee, Lennie Dennis, after the hard-fought 1-0 win v Solihull Moors.

Rob went on to choose the correct key, thereby relieving the safe of its full contents, amounting to £1,300! He then promptly put a large chunk of his winnings behind the bar, which meant the club’s 120th Birthday celebrations went on even longer into the evening! Well done and thank you Rob!

The second Strikers are Key draw of the day (draw19 of the season) was made by club legend Tony Rains who pulled ball 50 out of the bag, owned by Mark Kidd and Graham Starns. Sadly Kiddo was unable to emulate our treasurer’s good fortune, winning the pair the £50 consolation prize instead.

Onwards we go to draw 20 after the match v Chester in two weeks’ time.
