Sutton United Disability Teams U’s and Ganders travelled to the Dorking Wanderers’ Meadowbank Stadium headquarters of the Surrey FA on Sunday for the first ever Surrey FA Pan Disability Cup sponsored by Godstone Farm for Elite Premiership and Championship levels, and what a day it proved to be with both of our teams claiming finishing the day as winners.
The U’s Premiership team, fresh back from an impressive 3rd place finish in the Irish FA George Best Cup in Belfast, enjoyed a unbeaten day winning the Elite Level Cup, with the impressive Pro Touch Gold finishing runners up.
The Championship level saw our Ganders team (above) finishing top of the group and qualifying for the final against Motspur Park. This proved to be a close affair and it was Paul Young who became the Ganders’ hero with the only goal of the final securing victory.
