#HerGameToo was formed in 2021 by twelve female football supporters to combat sexism in football and make football grounds safer and free from sexist abuse, and we at Sutton United are committed to helping the campaign with the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally. There will be posters and billboards around the ground highlighting the campaign, and specially designated #HerGameToo matches for the men’s and women’s teams.

We will not stand by without challenging any behaviour that belittles, intimidates or otherwise harms women. As #HerGameToo ambassador, I am willing not only to stand up and call out sexism but also to be a point of contact for anyone who wishes to report or discuss any concerns they have about sexism and sexist behaviour they encounter at our matches. I’m always open for a chat even if something seems trivial – if it bothers you, we’ll talk. ”
Caz May, one of the founders of #HerGameToo, said: ”It’s fantastic to have Sutton United on board with the #HerGameToo campaign. Sexist abuse and misogyny surrounding football has always been a big problem – so one of our biggest aims is to build a safer space for all female supporters. We are delighted we can work in partnership with Sutton United to raise awareness and create a safe space for female staff & supporters at their stadium. We would like to thank Sutton United for the support.”
