Steve Morison has provided a squad update ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Eastleigh, including provided news regarding Siju Odelusi and Jack Wadham.

The U’s are set to take on a Spitfires side who sit just a place below them in the table, and Morison will be boosted by the knowledge that he has an almost full squad to pick from, minus the long-term absences of Jayden Harris and Steve Arnold.

Odelusi has recovered from the dislocated shoulder sustained against West Ham United in the National League Cup last month and could be in line to feature tomorrow.

“I said him and Jack [Wadham] would train the backend of the week so they’re training” said Morison. “A lot of people to pick from which is a position we haven’t been in recent weeks. Competition breeds competition and I think we should get better performances.”

Wadham had missed last week’s matches against Wealdstone and York City with a hamstring injury, but could be involved tomorrow after warming up prior to Tuesday night’s National League Cup match against West Bromwich Albion.

Furthermore, Alex Kirk made positive progress in his recovery from the torn LCL ligament that had kept him out since October, playing 45 minutes on Tuesday.

“It was disappointing”, Morison added”, “he played five games back-to-back and was excellent, then we lost him, so yeah really pleased that he’s come back for 45 minutes and he’s on the road to recovery and he’s someone we’re really pleased to have back on the pitch.”
