Steve Morison has offered an update regarding the state of the squad ahead of tomorrow’s National League Cup clash against Nottingham Forest.

Josh Coley will continue to be assessed prior to tomorrow’s match, after going off with a knock on Saturday against Kidderminster Harriers.

“He’s been assessed this morning, his ankle doesn’t look great and it’s unlucky it was the same ankle he previously hurt as well” Morison said, “hopefully it’s not as bad as it was last time and he comes back quickly but it’s still fresh so obviously it’s a lot sorer today than it was yesterday which is to be expected.”

“As long as there’s no significant damage it will be a case of getting him ready and right in the next couple of weeks”

As for those who are available for selection, Morison spoke pre-match about the opportunity for players to be ready for matches, and could therefore see some changes ahead of the visit of Nottingham Forest.

Morison said “we’ll start the game as strong as we can, we want to give everyone a game so the players who haven’t played will play”.

The gaffer also touched on the chance for Alex Kirk and Siju Odelusi to continue their progression from respective long-term injuries, with both featuring on the weekend.

“We’re obviously mindful that players need to be ready when we have matches” added Morison, ” if everyone who hasn’t played can get minutes under their belt tomorrow night and obviously the players who are slowly coming back as well; the likes of Siju [Odelusi] and Alex Kirk, then that’s positive as well and means they’ll be even more ready by the time we come here on Saturday.”
