Sutton United Football Club is thrilled to announce The Paul Alan Project as the club’s Lead Charity Partner for the coming season. This partnership aims to bring awareness and support to the vital work done by The Paul Alan Project in the local community and beyond.

The Paul Alan Project, a registered local charity dedicated to preventing more cardiac arrest deaths in the UK, empowers bystanders to become lifesavers in the event of a cardiac arrest by providing FREE basic lifesaving training and installing accessible defibrillators and bleed control kits across communities. By partnering with Sutton United, the charity will leverage the club’s platform to reach a wider audience and generate much-needed funds and resources.

Tim Allison, COO of Sutton United FC, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership: ”We are incredibly proud to partner with The Paul Alan Project. Cardiac arrest and heart problems are issues close to us, and we believe that together we can make a significant impact in our community. Our players, staff, and fans are all excited to support this cause.”

Throughout the season, Sutton United and The Paul Alan Project will collaborate on various initiatives, including:
• Matchday Fundraisers: Special match days dedicated to raising funds and awareness for cardiac arrest.
• Community Outreach Programs: Joint efforts to provide cardiac arrest awareness and lifesaving training.
• Player Engagement: Sutton United players will actively participate in events and campaigns to promote awareness and learn vital lifesaving skills themselves.
• Awareness Campaigns: Utilising social media and other platforms to spread the message about the work and impact of The Paul Alan Project.

Clare Parish, Founder of The Paul Alan Project, shared her excitement: “I want to live in a world where people are empowered to take action in the event of a cardiac arrest and be confident lifesavers, having the lifesaving equipment to do so as well. Partnering with Sutton United means the world to me as they have been my biggest supporters from the very start and I can’t thank them enough for this opportunity to further elevate our work and spread more vital awareness. I hope that by the end of this coming season, we are not only celebrating a U’s promotion but we are also celebrating a football family of lifesavers. I hope that as many fans as possible attend our free basic life saving sessions so that Sutton United will be the first truly heart safe football club, not just in the country but in the world, being the blue (amber) print for others to follow suit! I’ve lived in Sutton/Carshalton all my life and founded my charity from my dining table that sits two minutes away from GGL so to be supported by my local club that I have recently fallen in love with feels very close to home and I can’t thank them enough!
