Manager Paul Doswell has added to his squad prior to Saturday’s trip to Solihull Moors with the signing of two players on loan until the end of January, including fans’ favourite Tom Bolarinwa who has returned on loan from Grimsby Town. Tom scored eleven goals in U’s National League South championship campaign two seasons ago, earning a summer move to Grimsby for whom he has played over 30 games. His return on Saturday will see a quick reunion with Gary Whild, who was part of the management team at Grimsby under Marcus Bignot last season and is now in caretaker charge at Solihull.

Also joining on loan is Wimbledon midfielder Alfie Egan, who was 20 earlier this season. Alfie joined Wimbledon as a 15-year-old and came to prominence during the Dons’ FA Youth Cup run in 2016 before making his senior debut last season.

Paul Doswell said: ‘I’m delighted with both signings – Alfie is a player we were watching last season, while when I knew there was a chance of getting Tom back it was an easy decision. With Craig Eastmond, Nicky Bailey and Simon Walton all injured it gives us good cover in the squad for the next three months.” He talks more about the signings and looks forward to the Solihull game here.

Tom will have the squad number 30 and Alfie will be 31.
