Sutton United now host Crystal Palace Womens and Mens U21 fixtures at the VBS Community Stadium. In order to facilitate the best matchday experience for our partners at Crystal Palace we are now looking to attract additional members to our team. Whilst only required for a few hours each match these volunteers are remunerated, and can attend fixtures without charge. For those regular volunteers on Sunday’s a Crystal Palace Women’s Season Ticket can be offered.

Turnstile Operators:- A core part of matchday. With CPWFC matches in particular looking to be the highest attended events hosted at the VBS Community Stadium this season we would like to add to the pool of volunteers in place last season. There are a total of 14 potential entrances to the stadium, and most will be open for Sunday games. This role is customer facing and often the first interaction visitors get at the stadium. Following the promotion of Crystal Palace to the Women’s Super League, the top of the English Football Pyramid, there will be a lot of first time visitors this season. Tickets are available for supporters to purchase at the turnstiles so volunteers will be required to handle both cash and card payments. Turnstile operators will typically operate in pairs.

Grandstand Helpers:- Another key match role is assisting visitors to their correct seat. Whilst some supporters will become regulars and use the same seat, or terrace, each match as season ticket holders there will always be newcomers or those upgrading to a seat for any particular match. By assisting at the entrance of each grandstand our matchday volunteers are there to offer guidance and reassurance. In particular, with a new grandstand now in use, and a new audience to the Family Enclosure, having assistants at the Collingwood Road end of the ground is a key role to be filled on matchday.

Stadium and Matchday Operations:= Helpers:- As part of match preparations a small team are required to help with the setting up and dismantling of training goals as well as a small number of operational tasks such as welcoming guests, scouts, and other matchday persons such as officials and league representatives. There will also be opportunities to help with Crystal Palace staff in dealing with the media and possibly operating the scoreboard and stadium public announcements.
