We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Terry Bullivant as Director of Football. The newly created role will see Terry take responsibility for recruitment, setting up a comprehensive scouting network and building relationships with clubs higher up the Football League, as well as overseeing the club’s academy and youth structure and acting as an advisor to manager Matt Gray and assistant Jason Goodliffe.
Terry made nearly 200 Football League appearances between 1974 and 1986, over half of them for Fulham before going on to play for Aston Villa, Charlton and Brentford. He then managed Barnet and Reading and assisted Ray Lewington at Watford and Brentford, later also assisting former Sutton player Andy Scott at Griffin Park and also at Aldershot, where Matt Gray was coach. He scouted for England under Glenn Hoddle’s management as well as being Academy Director and assistant manager at Crystal Palace. Most recently he was chief scout at Millwall before leaving earlier this year.
Matt said: ”I’ve worked with Terry at Aldershot and Millwall, and I’m really pleased to have him at the club as we embark on our EFL career. His huge knowledge and experience of the game will be invaluable to myself and Jason, and he will provide a crucial link between the academy and youth teams and the senior squad.”
Terry also commented on taking up the post ”I’m really impressed with Sutton and how we’ve become a Football League club, and I’m looking forward to working with Matt again, helping to establish us in the EFL and to develop all aspects of the football operation at the club to continue the progress that’s been made on and off the pitch.”
