Sutton’s women’s team bounced back from Sunday’s defeat at Fulham with a 2-1 win at Dorking Wanderers last night.

After Zoe McNulty made some good early saves, Laura Murtagh, who had opened her Sutton account on Sunday, was on target again to give Sutton the lead, put through by Fern Colepio’s pass after the midfielder had won a tackle on the half way line. However Dorking levelled before half time as former Sutton striker Olivia Watson went clear to shoot past the advancing McNulty. In the closing stages, though, Colepio turned from creator to scorer with a superb looping header from a right wing corner to give Sutton the points that moved U’s up to fourth place in the table ahead of Sunday’s visit to league leaders Dartford.
